Headstart 14+ programme

We are delighted to be running this hugely popular programme, for the third year running

It takes place on the race track at the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford; a safe, legal, and gated off-road space to give a first taster of driving.

Each young driver enjoys 1:2:1 instruction in a dual control car for two hours with one of our experienced and patient instructors. They start by learning the controls and progress to driving around the track, working up to manoeuvres such as reversing, overtaking and emergency stops. The cost of the session is £140 (which includes 50% discount for entry to the museum during the seasonal opening hours).

The programme is designed to provide young drivers (14+ years of age) with their first opportunity to get a feel for what driving is all about and simply enjoy the adventure of being in the driving seat. It also provides young drivers aged 16-17 years old with a ‘head start’ in the lead up to gaining their provisional license and getting ready for their regular driving lessons.

In addition, we also welcome newly qualified or nervous young drivers who are struggling to gain confidence on the road.

For repeat pupils, we offer progressive learning rather than just a second go at the same thing.
