Booking with Roadwise
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 13 May 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with Roadwise Driver Training CIC (“Roadwise”, “we”, “us”). By booking a course, lesson, or voucher, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions
1. “You” / “Pupil” – the individual receiving training, named on the booking form.
“We” / “Us” / “Roadwise” – Roadwise Driver Training CIC and our network of franchised driving instructors.
“Instructor” / “ADI” – a self-employed Approved Driving Instructor registered with the DVSA who delivers training on behalf of Roadwise under a franchise agreement.
2. Nature of the Service
Roadwise operates a network of self-employed franchised instructors. All training is delivered by these instructors.
Roadwise acts as an agent for its franchised instructors in the sale of lessons, courses, and vouchers.
Your allocated instructor is the provider of the training service and is solely responsible for the delivery, safety, and quality of that training.
As service providers, instructors are fully responsible for any loss, injury, illness, damage, claim, or liability arising from the training they deliver.
Roadwise accepts no liability for any injury, illness, damage, loss, accident, or expense arising from training delivered by a franchised instructor.
3. Booking & Course Information
Each course or voucher covers the total number of hours purchased. Additional hours may be arranged directly with your instructor, subject to availability.
Course prices generally exclude DVSA test fees, unless explicitly stated in the product description.
Intensive courses may be completed over 7 days or spread over 2–3 weeks.
Classroom-based training must be attended on the specific date(s) purchased.
On-road training is normally delivered 1:1.
Training is available in Aberdeen City and Shire. Please enquire for exact coverage.
Instructors will aim to collect you from home, school, or work. In some areas, you may be asked to meet your instructor at an agreed location.
4. Legal Requirements
1. You must pass the DVSA eyesight test (20.5m / 67ft) at the start of your first lesson.
If you do not meet the standard, training cannot proceed, and booked hours/fees will be lost.
2. You must hold a valid provisional driving licence and present it on or before your first lesson.
Failure to produce it will result in cancellation and full charges for the booked session.
This does not apply to Headstart sessions (14+).
3. Your instructor may refuse to take you to test if they believe you have not reached the required standard.
4. You must not attend training under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs driving.
If your instructor suspects impairment, the session will be cancelled and fully chargeable.
5. Standards & Instructor Responsibilities
1. Training will be delivered in line with DVSA standards.
2. Your instructor will provide a vehicle that is:
Fully insured
Roadworthy
Fitted with dual controls
Suitable for DVSA driving tests
3. Instructors may cancel lessons at short notice due to illness, vehicle issues, or unforeseen circumstances.
6. Cancellations & Missed Lessons
If you cancel a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full lesson fee will be charged.
If you are unfit to drive or fail to meet DVSA legal requirements, the lesson will be cancelled with no refund.
Roadwise and instructors reserve the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to operational or safety reasons.
